No matter how the type was important in the history, almost no attention was put on type by the plastic kit manufacturer. Analysis of plastic kit which cover that period note that there could be found a many of type in injection form and the type which is less known or important. French kit producer "Heller" has bring on market a number of French type but Breguet XIX is somehow forgotten. There was a number of attempt to make this kit in resin form or vac-u-form but with limited success. In the mid of the '90 Polish producer "Hit Kit" released short run kit in 1/72 scale. This was the product with a number of omissions and advantages. Fuselage was a real problem as well cross sections was wrong. Also upper wing was done as a rough shape with any of details- ribs was missing totally. Good thing is that the nose of the kit could be cut and kit provide parts to feature a number of various engine used by the Breguet XIX. There could be possibility to built up from the early "W" engine to the latest version [Cyclone was not included]. Photo etched parts was nicely done but most of the small parts was not very useful. Decals was printed by well known "Propagteam" and was of high quality. A number of different planes could be finished from various countries such as Croatia, Turkey, Yugoslavia... Hope that things will change... |
